My life and journey began in a small prairie town with a basic western diet, lots of white flour and white sugar products, which led to lots of infections such as colds, flu, mononucleosis, and rounds and rounds of antibiotics.

I had my appendix removed at the age of 13, a tonsillectomy shortly after that, and started having severe ear infections in my late teens, which required more antibiotics.

During my post-secondary schooling, I became even more ill and was told by my doctor that I have cirrhosis of the liver. I was at a loss as I did not consume much alcohol. I started doing my own research into diet and nutrition to help myself and found a school that taught holistic nutrition – the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition – where I received my diploma in Natural Nutrition in May 2000.

I discovered the connection between diet and my health issues, which was severe dysbiosis and candida overgrowth from frequent antibiotic use that produced so many endotoxins that my liver was not functioning properly. After a few years of eating a clean diet, improving digestion and increasing good bacteria in my intestinal tract, I have no more liver issues. In fact, since becoming certified in holistic nutrition, I have not had any severe infections that require antibiotics.

In 2001, I opened the Calgary location of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and in 2012, I branched out to the Edmonton area. I have had the pleasure of operating the schools and offering the C.S.N.N. Natural Nutrition Diploma Program to hundreds of students over the years.

For the past five years, I have been a member of the C.S.N.N. Standards and Ethics Committee and Curriculum Committee, and have been a fundamental part in the development and writing of a new curriculum for C.S.N.N. In 2019, I sold the Edmonton location of C.S.N.N. to have more time to return to what I am most passionate about – helping people by providing them with the education and tools needed to obtain their health goals. Now I have opened a new company – Steps TwoWards Health to better serve the public.

Thank you for reading my story and I hope this will inspire you to start your health journey.

Sincerely,
